Salata Tahini/Jerusalem Salad/Tahini Salad
Salata tahini is a colorful, crunchy and savory salad made with a simple tahini dressing. This is typically served with a falafel sandwich or even as a side for breakfast, but my family loved eating it with kebabs, especially fish! Lately, I’ve been loving to drizzle the dressing over a pile of greens with whatever protein I have on hand or even on a burger! Ingredients:
For the salad:
3 Persian cucumbers, finely diced
2-3 roma or vine ripe tomatoes, finely diced
1 small clove of garlic (forgot to add in the video), grated (optional)
1 yellow, red or orange bell pepper, finely diced
½ bunch flat leaf parsley, very chopped
For the dressing:
½ cup tahini paste
Juice from ½ – 1 lemon, about 3-4 tablespoons
½ – ¾ cup water
Salt to taste
Directions:
Add all the chopped veggies to a bowl and set aside to work on the dressing. To make the dressing, combine the tahini and lemon juice and mix together. The tahini will begin to seize up and lighten in color. Slowly add in your water and mix until desired consistency is reached. Salt to taste. Add the dressing to the veggies, mix to combine and serve! Best eaten with a falafel sandwich, over fish or as a salad dressing over greens. Enjoy & Sahtein

This salad was so simple to make but tasted incredible! I love all the parsley used in Middle Eastern dishes. It’s one of those super detoxifying foods that I’m always trying to eat more often. I grow all of the vegetables needed for this salad, so I can’t wait until summer when I have all of the fresh ingredients to make it with my own garden harvest! Thanks for sharing this recipe. Looking forward trying some of your others!
I hope you enjoyed! Its such a staple for us, with and without tahini!
