Cuisine American
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 80/20 or 85/15
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tablespoon all purpose steak seasoning
- 5-6 strips bacon I use turkey bacon here
- 6 burger buns of choice
- Goat cheese
- Tomatoes sliced
- Red onions sliced
- Arugula
- Fig jam
To serve:
- French fries
- Ketchup
- BBQ sauce - my fave with these!
Prepare the ground beef by mixing it with salt and pepper. Prepare 6 patties and 3/4 inch thick and make an indent in the middle with your thumb, then sprinkle the all purpose steak seasoning evenly on both sides of the burgers.
Preheat your grill, griddle or skillet to high heat. Add a neutral oil to the cooking surface and cook the bacon on both sides till crispy. Then cook the burgers until it develops a crisp on one side - about 3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side to desired doneness - I usually do another 3-4 minutes on the opposite side to achieve a medium well burger at this thickness, but adjust to your liking!
Toast the buns and set them aside till you're ready to build your burgers. Add a burger patty on top followed by a generous dollop of creamy goat cheese, some slices of red onions, a slice of the cooked bacon cut in half, a handful of crisp arugula, and a slice of tomato. Spread some of the fig jam on the top bun and add top off the burger. Serve with fries, ketchup, or my personal favorite - BBQ sauce! Enjoy!
