There’s no better way to enjoy the holiday season than sipping on some gingerbread hot chocolate watching your favorite movie.
Ahhh doesn’t hot chocolate just set the mood for a Christmasy evening? I truly think there is something special about sipping on a warm drink, under a cozy blanket with some fuzzy socks on, Christmas tree lights twinkling and a movie in the background. It just makes me happy!
This gingerbread hot chocolate takes the best of both worlds, the comfort of hot chocolate with the spice of gingerbread. Forget the store bought mixes. If you have a bar of chocolate that you love on hand – don’t we all? I feel like its mandatory to always have some sort of chocolate on hand – some milk, heavy cream, molasses and spices, you’re ready to make this!
Making this gingerbread hot chocolate special
Start by lightly boiling your milk, heavy cream, molasses, salt and cloves (if you’re using whole cloves – if you’re using ground, hold them till the end with the rest of the spices).
Once it starts to bubble, lower the heat and add in your chocolate, vanilla and all your spices. SO SIMPLE!
I love serving this with some fresh whipped cream that I whipped with some powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and a little (store bought) gingerbread man for dunking. It’s just too good.
I also love how these pictures came out. Totally sets the vibe that I was going for which makes me happy!
