This Enchanted Orchard apple cider cocktail is giving me all the fall feels and I’m here for it!

Enchanted Orchard Apple Cider Cocktail

Happy Feel Good Friday! Every Friday between October and the beginning of 2023, I plan to share a seasonal cocktail perfect for the holidays and festivities ahead. Today’s drink is this very autumn forward enchanted orchard apple cider cocktail which uses spiced apple cider, tequila, and apple butter to really give you the orchard vibe.

One of the main thoughts in my head when I think of the fall season is apples and pumpkins. Last week I shared this Pumpkin Butter White Russian, so naturally I had to bring in the next ingredient that makes me think of this cozy season – enter apples. I used apple cider and apple butter for this to really enhance the flavor and it really is delicious!

My cousins in Michigan would always tell me about the cider mills during the fall where they would get apple cider donuts, go apple picking, drink hot apple cider. ALL THE APPLE THINGS. So I kind of had that vibe in mind when creating this enchanted orchard cocktail too. We don’t have cider mills in San Diego – or at least none that I know of, so I brought the cider mill to me!

Truthfully, I was hoping to share an old fashioned cocktail which tends to be my husband Awad’s go-to drink, but I’m still working on making it just right. I usually make them and only take one small sip, I’m not the biggest fan of whiskey or bourbon so he’s the taste tester for those. Hopefully next Friday that will be the drink you see!

Making this apple cider Enchanted Orchard apple cider cocktail

This really is one of the easiest cocktails you can make. It’s common to have ingredients like apple cider or apple butter on hand during the fall months. Why not use them in a fun seasonal drink!

Mix together the tequila, apple cider, apple butter, maple syrup, and cinnamon with ice in a jar or cocktail shaker for about 30 seconds. It should be smooth and all the apple butter should be well combined with the liquid. Pour this directly into a glass filled with ice and garnish with a cinnamon stick and an apple slice which isn’t 100% necessary but definitely adds a fun detail.

If you want to make a mocktail version of this apple cider cocktail, just combine 3 oz apple cider, the apple butter, maple syrup (which you can omit if you don’t want your drink too sweet) and cinnamon. Shake well with ice, pour over an ice filled glass and top off with 3 oz ginger beer and the same garnish. SO good!
